Forget pineapple on pizza, the toppings on Thanksgiving Pizza are something else!
People often argue about pizza toppings, like whether or not pineapples belong on one. But we won't get into that debate now. DiGiorno has come up with something interesting – the Thanksgiving Pizza. This new pizza is topped with holiday meal classics: turkey, green beans, gravy, and more.
According to the brand, the Thanksgiving Pizza has a bit of everything from the holiday. It includes turkey, creamy gravy sauce, diced sweet potatoes, green beans, cranberries, mozzarella and cheddar cheeses, and crispy onions. All of this is on a thick, chewy Detroit style crust. The only thing missing is dessert.
"From Friendsgiving parties to Turkey Day tables, we're thrilled to provide a bold new way to appreciate the traditional Thanksgiving spread. Our passion is pizza, and we are always looking for unique ways to infuse the fresh-baked taste of DIGIORNO into moments of celebration – even the most traditional holiday dinners," said Kimberly Holowiak, Senior Brand Manager for DIGIORNO.
If you're interested in trying this Thanksgiving Pizza or want to bring it to your dinner with some friends (no judgment here), here's the scoop: DiGiorno is going to sell a limited number of them online for $11.23 every Wednesday from November 1st to November 22nd on their website. This week's batch is already gone, but don't give up! They're up for grabs on a first-come, first-served basis as long as they last. Keep checking back every Wednesday.
Regarding Delicious Holiday Food Updates
On Wednesday, Campbell's shared their second yearly State of the Sides study and found that 67% of Americans like side dishes more than the main course – a bit more than last year's report. What's most liked are the classics: mashed potatoes, stuffing, mac and cheese, sweet potatoes, and green bean casserole. 66% of folks said that sides let them include their culture in their Thanksgiving feast, and nearly 6 out of 10 Americans think the holiday is about more than just family.
They're having a Friendsgiving gathering this year. The company also teamed up with Chef Phillip Ashley Rix, known as the real-life Willy Wonka, to create a new set of six chocolate truffles with soup flavors for the holiday season, available from Phillip Ashley Chocolates.
"Sides season just got even sweeter. From Green Bean Casserole to Mac & Cheese, we're excited for the drop of the new Holiday Sides Collection which highlights the many recipes that feature our iconic can and spark menu inspiration for holiday hosts this season," said Marci Raible, Vice President of Integrated Marketing, Campbell's.
