Bryan Danielson won't be back in action until "later this year."
Bryan Danielson got hurt again. The American Dragon broke a bone near his eye during a fight with Andrade El Idolo on AEW Collision in October. Just five days later, Danielson wrestled again, teaming up with his buddy Claudio Castagnoli to take on Kazuchika Okada and AEW International Champion Orange Cassidy on AEW Dynamite. After the match, AEW showed Danielson holding his face, and it seemed like they wanted to blame Okada for his real injury in the story, setting up a possible rematch between the two.
Bryan Danielson Needs Time Off for a Few Weeks
The American Dragon, Bryan Danielson, got hurt. He had surgery for a broken bone around his eye and won't be wrestling for a while, probably until later this year. It's possible he might be ready for AEW's last pay-per-view of 2023, AEW Worlds End, on December 30th.
If he's all better by then, he might also be able to wrestle at NJPW Wrestle Kingdom 18. We don't know yet if that's the plan, but Danielson has always wanted to wrestle in Japan. Right now, Kazuchika Okada doesn't have an opponent for that event because the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship will be decided between Sanada and Tetsuya Naito. So, there's a chance we could see a rematch between AEW and NJPW with Bryan Danielson if he's good to go by then.
Danielson had another injury recently in his time with AEW. Last summer, he got a head injury at AEW Double or Nothing and couldn't participate in AEW Dynamite: Blood & Guts and AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door 2022. In June, he broke his arm in his first match with Okada, so he had to skip AEW ALL IN: London.
