Sonic Dream Team Launching Only on Apple Devices.
Sonic the Hedgehog fans are in for another new game this year, but there's a bit of a twist. The game in question is Sonic Dream Team, and the twist is that it's exclusively available on mobile devices. Additionally, it's specifically part of the Apple Arcade subscription service. This means if you're not a dedicated Apple user or subscribed to that game collection, getting access to this new Sonic the Hedgehog game might be more challenging than other titles.
The announcement of the new Sonic game came as part of a larger release of Apple Arcade games for Apple devices. A trailer for Sonic Dream Team showcased gameplay, playable characters, and a story where Sonic's team takes on Dr. Eggman once again.
Sonic Dream Team Joins Apple Arcade
In Sonic Dream Team, you'll control six familiar characters which are pretty typical for a Sonic game: Sonic, Tails, Knuckles, Amy Rose, Cream, and Rouge. Each of these characters has their own special abilities. The game is a 3D platformer, as seen in the trailer showcasing its gameplay. Sega shared the following about this new Sonic game:
"The thrilling new 3D action platformer follows the evil Doctor Eggman who has discovered The Reverie – an ancient device with the power to manifest dreams in the real world," an overview of the new Sonic the Hedgehog game said. "Join Sonic and friends as they navigate twisted dreamscapes, rescue their friends, and put a stop to Doctor Eggman's quest for world domination."
Apple and Sega confirmed that the upcoming Sonic Dream Team game will be available on Apple Arcade starting December 5th, so it will be some time before players can actually enjoy it. Until then, there are other Sonic the Hedgehog games available in the App Store, such as Sonic Dash Endless Runner Game, Sonic Dash 2: Sonic Boom, Sonic The Hedgehog 2 Classic, and additional titles.
