Parliament Members "Have Already Been Talking" About WrestleMania in the United Kingdom

John Cena surprised wrestling fans worldwide twice over the past weekend. The iconic wrestler made an unexpected appearance at WWE Money in the Bank, marking his first time inside a wrestling ring since WWE WrestleMania 39 in April. During the event, Cena took the microphone and advocated for the United Kingdom to host a future WWE WrestleMania, causing a thunderous reaction from the crowd at the O2 Arena. However, despite Cena's impassioned words, reports have since indicated that there are currently no concrete plans to bring WrestleMania to the UK in the near future. Nevertheless, UK government officials have expressed their interest in initiating discussions on the matter.

In an interview with BBC, a group of Members of Parliament expressed their willingness to assist in making a UK-hosted WrestleMania a reality. Alex Davies-Jones, the Labour MP for Pontypridd in Wales and co-chair of the All-Party Parliamentary Group on Wrestling, shared her enthusiasm, stating, "I would love for it to happen. The APPG has already been discussing how we can contribute to the process by facilitating conversations. We are eager to promote the UK as a premier destination for world-class wrestling and would leverage our contacts and negotiation skills to engage with WWE." Davies-Jones also highlighted that the upcoming AEW ALL IN: London event at Wembley Stadium this August further reinforces the UK's reputation as a top-tier wrestling destination. However, she clarified that Cena's speech took everyone by surprise, as they were not aware of his plans.

"No one could have anticipated John Cena's surprise appearance and his announcement regarding the potential WrestleMania in the UK," Davies-Jones exclaimed. "It was truly remarkable and created a tremendous buzz among the crowd, igniting excitement about the possibilities it could bring for wrestling fans, the UK economy, and future enthusiasts alike."

While WWE WrestleMania 40 is confirmed to take place in Philadelphia, PA next year, no official locations have been announced for 2025 and beyond. However, early rumors have suggested that Minneapolis, Minnesota could host WrestleMania 41 in 2025, followed by Nashville potentially hosting WrestleMania 43 in 2027.
