The official Twitter account for Invincible has announced that the Prime Video animated series will be revealing exciting Season 2 updates during the upcoming San Diego Comic-Con 2023.

Amazon has confirmed that Invincible will have a dedicated panel at the highly anticipated San Diego Comic-Con 2023.

"Exciting news for Season 2! Join us in 2 weeks at SDCC for the latest updates! No sandstorms involved! (as far as we know)," shared the official Twitter account of the Prime Video series. The accompanying meme playfully hinted at the forthcoming Season 2 news, using footage from the beloved animated series.

Invincible fans have been eagerly awaiting news about the highly anticipated second season, which was initially announced in April 2021, just before the first season finale. The most recent significant update arrived in January 2023 when Prime Video treated fans to a brief scene featuring Steven Yeun's Invincible and Seth Rogen's Allen the Alien, teasing the release window for Season 2. While the two-year gap between Seasons 1 and 2 has been a test of patience, fans can take solace in the fact that the wait for Seasons 2 and 3 will be considerably shorter. In September 2022, star Khary Payton revealed that production had already commenced on Season 3 of Invincible. Although a specific release window for Season 3 has not been disclosed at this time, fans can be assured that more Invincible goodness is on the way.

What Is Invincible?

Invincible is an adult animated series based on the popular Image Comics series of the same name by Robert Kirkman, Cory Walker, and Ryan Ottley. The comic series, which spanned 144 issues from 2003 to 2018, served as the inspiration for the critically acclaimed show. The first season premiered in March 2021, introducing viewers to 17-year-old Mark Grayson (voiced by Steven Yeun), who is the son of the world's greatest superhero, Omni-Man (voiced by J. K. Simmons). As Mark develops powers similar to his father, he embarks on a journey to become a superhero. However, when a team of elite superheroes is mysteriously murdered, Mark finds himself entangled in a perilous conspiracy that puts his family and the entire world in jeopardy. In Season 2, Invincible will confront Angstrom Levy, a villain capable of opening portals to alternate dimensions.

The voice cast of Invincible includes an impressive lineup of talent, including Sandra Oh, Gillian Jacobs, Andrew Rannells, Zazie Beetz, Mark Hamill, Walton Goggins, Jason Mantzoukas, Mae Whitman, Chris Diamantopoulos, Kevin Michael Richardson, Grey Griffin, Max Burkholder, Zachary Quinto, Ross Marquand, Malese Jow, and Clancy Brown. The series is produced by Skybound, with Robert Kirkman, Simon Racioppa, David Alpert, and Catherine Winder serving as executive producers.

Fans can currently stream the first season of Invincible on Prime Video. Season 2 is expected to make its debut in late 2023, offering more thrilling adventures for viewers to enjoy.
