The second season of Prime Video's Invincible just came out after a long wait, and it's getting a lot of love. As of now, it has a perfect 100% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, based on 14 reviews. Everyone seems to be really enjoying the new episodes.
Invincible is based on a unique superhero story created by Robert Kirkman, Cory Walker, and Ryan Ottley. It started as a comic series published by Image Comics from 2003 to 2018. Besides the first season, there was also a special episode about Atom Eve that premiered at San Diego Comic-Con in July.
Why Was There A Delay For Invincible Season 2?
In a 2021 interview, Kirkman mentioned that the first season of Invincible took a long time to make behind the scenes. This is why there might have been some delays, but he assured fans that the final product would definitely be worth waiting for.
"The production timeline is somewhat daunting. I think that we spend a number of years developing and working on this season. As we hopefully move into season 2 and beyond, things will tighten. There's definitely a lot less designing and different things that have to happen to move into our second season. And it's entirely possible that there's already work that has been done on the second season. So I think we're in a good place to be moving forward were this show to end up being successful," comic co-creator Robert Kirkman said in an interview earlier this year.
When Is Invincible Season 3 Coming Out?
Kirkman said in an interview this year that there won't be such a long wait for the next seasons of Invincible.
"This is a very complicated show. There's a lot of work going into it. Making an animated series is kind of like assembling a factory and getting that factory running, and now that we have everything in place, this is going to be the longest gap there will ever be between seasons. From this point on, every gap between seasons will be smaller." Kirkman explained.
What's the Story of Invincible?
Invincible is a cartoon for grown-ups about a 17-year-old named Mark Grayson. He's a regular guy, but his dad is the strongest superhero around, Omni-Man. However, as Mark starts to get superpowers of his own, he finds out that his dad might not be as much of a hero as people think.
Invincible is a show with actors like Steven Yeun, J.K. Simmons, Sandra Oh, Zazie Beetz, Grey Griffin, Kevin Michael Richardson, Walton Goggins, Gillian Jacobs, Zachary Quinto, Jason Mantzoukas, and Seth Rogen. They will be joined by new actors like Chloe Bennet, Rob Delaney, Paul F. Tompkins, Peter Cullen, Tim Robinson, Tatiana Maslany, Sterling K. Brown, Phil Lamarr, Lea Thompson, Jay Pharoah, and Calista Flockhart.
Season 2 of Invincible will be available on Prime Video starting on November 3rd.
