Dragon Ball has a new cover art drawn by Gege Akutami, the creator of Jujutsu Kaisen.
The Dragon Ball Super Gallery Project is at it again! They've been sharing lots of artwork to honor Akira Toriyama, who's getting close to the 40th anniversary of Dragon Ball. They've invited many talented manga artists to create new cover art for Dragon Ball, and now the creator of Jujutsu Kaisen is joining in.
Gege Akutami, the artist behind Jujutsu Kaisen, just released a new cover art piece. He chose to redo the cover for volume 41 of Dragon Ball. When you look at his tribute, you can see that Akutami gave the cover a fresh new look.
The first cover of Dragon Ball volume 41 is quite simple. It shows nine close-up pictures of our favorite characters, like Hercules, Trunks, and Piccolo. But the new cover is more lively.
In the new cover, Piccolo is right in the middle with a surprised expression on his face. That's because there's Majin Buu in the background, and Super Saiyan Gotenks is encouraging him. You can understand why Piccolo looks so shocked in this picture, and Akutami adds their unique style to this artwork.
Certainly, this collaboration between Dragon Ball and Jujutsu Kaisen is really exciting, and it holds a special meaning for Gege Akutami, the creator of Jujutsu Kaisen. Akutami is a big fan of Dragon Ball and has mentioned in the past that he grew up watching it. He also considers Akira Toriyama, the creator of Dragon Ball, as one of his top role models. Now, Akutami can proudly say that he has had the opportunity to work with the legendary Dragon Ball series.
