A prequel to "Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea" will be released in 2024.
The story of Nautilus is going to keep going. Recently, it was announced that a new TV series, which comes before Jules Verne's famous book "Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea," will be shown on AMC Networks. Initially, the show was made for Disney+ but was canceled earlier this year due to money-saving efforts. Now, Nautilus will be shown on AMC and AMC+ in 2024 as a special event series. They had already finished making the first season of Nautilus before Disney+ decided not to air it.
"Nautilus is a big, sweeping drama that is sure to appeal to fans of our Anne Rice Immortal Universe and other buzzy and fan-forward series like Orphan Black: Echoes. We are looking forward to bringing it to AMC+ and AMC as a special television event next year," Ben Davis, executive vice president of original programming for AMC Networks and AMC Studios, said in a statement.
"I am hugely excited that the efforts of everyone involved in the making of the show will be seen on such a prestigious network," writer and executive producer James Dormer added.
"We are so thrilled to present the epic adventures of Captain Nemo and his legendary submarine The Nautilus alongside the other incredible AMC universes. The series will take viewers on a breathtaking journey with Nemo and his crew, battling terrifying creatures and the dark forces of the British Empire," producers Xavier Marchand and Anand Tucker echoed.

Which TV Shows Did Disney+ Stop Making?
In the past few years, Disney+ has decided to stop making some of its own shows, and in some cases, they've taken them off the service completely. Some of the shows they canceled are The Mysterious Benedict Society, National Treasure: Edge of History, The Mighty Ducks: Game Changers, Doogie Howser, M.D., Big Shot, Turner & Hooch, Diary of a Future President, and the TV show based on the movie Willow. Also, Hulu, which Disney owns, removed Y: The Last Man, Dollface, The Hot Zone, Maggie, Pistol, and Little Demon from its platform. They've even taken down certain original movies like Crater.
