In Episode 3 of Rick and Morty Season 7, they brought back one of Rick's old flames, Unity!
In the latest episode of Rick and Morty Season 7, a favorite character from Rick's past has made a comeback. The show has been slowly showing us more about Rick's connections with his friends and family in the first few episodes of this season. In this new episode, things get even more complicated when the President and Dr. Wong pay a visit to Rick.
The President asks Rick and Dr. Wong to go on a mission to Virginia. They are concerned because a law has been passed there that makes "love" the official rule of the town. This has led to everyone in the town agreeing with it, a decrease in crime, and other unusual things happening. The President wants to find out why this is happening and soon discovers that a hive mind has taken control of the state. But what's even more surprising is that the hive mind is none other than Rick's ex, Unity.
Why Unity Comes Back in Rick and Morty Season 7?
In Season 7, Episode 3 of Rick and Morty titled "Air Force Wong," Rick gets a surprise visit from Unity. She's taken control of the people in Virginia, and it's because Rick hasn't been answering her calls. She's worried about him and wants to talk. Unity is concerned because she's heard that Rick is looking for "him" again, probably referring to Rick Prime. Since Rick wouldn't talk to her, she had to do something drastic to get his attention.
In the Season 2 episode "Auto Erotic Assimilation," Unity and Rick were together, but Unity chose to leave him because she wanted to spread her influence and create a hive mind. In the latest episode, it seems that Unity may not love Rick anymore, but she still cares about him. She reached out to him because she was worried. However, Rick refused to talk to her, which hurt her because he had been ignoring her since their breakup.
In this recent episode, things are a bit shaky between them. Rick does say that he trusts Unity again, especially after she helps him save the Earth from the President's new hive mind attack. But Unity doesn't feel the same way, as she thinks Rick is only just starting to become a better person.
