Ex-Rockstar Developer Suggests Changes to GTA 6 Map "Smaller, Denser"

Developer of Red Dead Redemption and Vice City Stories Suggests GTA 6 Map Should Be "Smaller and Busier.

GTA 6

For a while now, people have been talking about whether Grand Theft Auto 6 is coming. GTA's many fans eagerly wait for any clues about the game. But it's not only fans who have ideas about what Rockstar Games should do when they eventually talk about GTA 6. In a recent talk, a former developer suggested that the company might consider a 'less is more' approach for the game's map.

In a recent chat with PCGamesN, Tony Gowland, who helped with games like Liberty City Stories, Vice City Stories, Chinatown Wars, and the original Red Dead Redemption while at Rockstar, shared his thoughts on what he believes the team should consider for GTA 6. Gowland, now working with Ant Workshop, said, "I think a smaller but more densely packed location would maybe bring back some of that memorable navigation that I loved from the original." He went on to talk about seeing some of the unfinished footage that leaked recently, saying that it must have been "heartbreaking for the team."

It could be a different idea for Rockstar to try with the series. In its recent games, the company has kept making larger and more detailed worlds, trying to create the biggest, most complete game worlds possible. Gowland's idea would mean a smaller world for players but filled with more things happening. While it won't have the vast lands of games like Grand Theft Auto 5 or Red Dead Redemption 2, having more interesting quests and characters might make it a fair exchange.

Since Gowland doesn't work with Rockstar anymore, this is just hoping for things. We can't know for sure what Rockstar will do next with the series, but it seems like going back to Vice City might be the most probable idea. Hopefully, it won't take too long before we find out what Rockstar plans for Grand Theft Auto 6.

Grand Theft Auto 6 Release Date

GTA 6

At the moment, fans don't know when Grand Theft Auto 6 will arrive. Rockstar Games hasn't said anything officially or dropped any hints. But the latest rumor is that GTA 6 won't be announced this year. This info suggests the game might not come out until 2025 at the earliest. This hearsay comes from YouTuber Legacy Killa HD, who says they got this from different developers with differing opinions on whether Rockstar should give fans a sneak peek this year.

Remember, it's just guessing, and we can't be sure when or if we'll hear more about GTA 6 soon. But when Rockstar finally shares something, it'll be an exciting moment for fans. Let's hope that happens sooner rather than later.
