El Tigre Is Coming to Paramount+ Soon

El Tigre: The Adventures of Manny Rivera is finally making its way to streaming as Paramount+ has recently announced that it will be available on their streaming service next month! Originally created by Jorge R. Gutierrez and Sandra Equihua, El Tigre: The Adventures of Manny Rivera was one of the most prominent Nickelodeon animated shows of the 2000s. It followed the story of a young boy with superpowers who found himself torn between following the heroic path of his superhero father or embracing the more villainous ways of his supervillain grandfather. However, despite its popularity during its original airing on Nickelodeon, fans have had a hard time revisiting the show in recent years.

Fortunately, the wait to relive the adventures of El Tigre will soon be over, as El Tigre: The Adventures of Manny Rivera will be available for streaming on Paramount+ starting on July 26th. While it's currently labeled as a "Season 1" release, it's unclear how many episodes from its original 26-episode run (which included a total of 50 stories, with many episodes featuring two distinct segments) will be available. Nonetheless, any availability on a streaming platform is exciting news for fans who have been longing to watch the show again!

What Is El Tigre?

El Tigre: The Adventures of Manny Rivera, created by Jorge R. Gutierrez and Sandra Equihua, premiered on Nickelodeon in 2007. The show is set in Miracle City, a vibrant and culturally rich Mexican-inspired town. The protagonist, Manny Rivera, assumes the identity of El Tigre and dedicates himself to fighting crime in his community. Caught between the influences of his father, the renowned superhero White Pantera, and his grandfather, the infamous villain Puma Loco, Manny faces the constant struggle of choosing between good and evil. Assisted by his loyal best friend Frida Suarez, Manny embarks on thrilling adventures, confronting formidable adversaries while grappling with his own moral compass.

El Tigre: The Adventures of Manny Rivera was not only groundbreaking in terms of representation on Nickelodeon but also introduced an innovative fan engagement concept. In a special two-part event, viewers were given the opportunity to vote on the outcome of a particular episode, determining whether Manny would pursue the path of a hero or a villain. Ultimately, fans overwhelmingly voted for Manny to embrace his heroic nature.
