During Jon Moxley's recent appearance in New Japan Pro-Wrestling, he experienced a rare loss alongside Homicide against El Desperado and Jun Kasai in a brutal "Doomsday No Disqualification" Match at the NJPW Strong Independence Day show in Tokyo, Japan on Tuesday. As expected, the match was filled with violence and bloodshed, given the stipulation and the involvement of Moxley and Kasai, a renowned Japanese deathmatch wrestling veteran. In a shocking moment, Kasai stabbed Moxley in the head with a handful of chopsticks, leading to Desperado pinning Homicide for the victory and Moxley suffering an uncommon defeat.
However, Moxley is still scheduled to appear via a pre-taped promo on this week's episode of AEW Dynamite. He will be building anticipation for the upcoming Blood and Guts Match between his faction, The Blackpool Combat Club, and The Elite, along with Eddie Kingston. With Bryan Danielson currently sidelined with a broken arm, it remains unclear whether The BCC will recruit a fifth member for the match or if The Elite will narrow their ranks down to four before the July 19 episode of AEW Dynamite in Boston.

Bryan Danielson Injury Update
Danielson suffered his injury during the main event of this year's AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door pay-per-view when he received an elbow drop from Kazuchika Okada, resulting in his arm being in an unfavorable position upon impact. Initially, Danielson tried to downplay the injury during the post-show media scrum. However, his wife Brie Garcia (formerly known as Brie Bella) later posted an x-ray showing that his arm was indeed completely broken.
"At around the ten-minute mark, we believe I fractured my right forearm. But after consulting with our doctors, and I must say I have great respect for the AEW medical staff and trainers, they anticipate a recovery time of 6-8 weeks for this particular injury," Danielson stated at the time. Reports suggesting that AEW had to alter plans due to "The American Dragon's" injury have been circulating since then.
"I do want to mention that being a part of an Okada match is an unforgettable moment, and being involved in any Bryan Danielson match is special, especially when he continued to wrestle with a broken arm in the final portion of the match. He applied that stretch plum, or as we call it, the LeBell Lock, with a broken hand. He used his first hand, and then he did this. Of course, we are uncertain whether he is currently able to compete or not. He did this and this, forcing his hand to lock under tremendous pain," Tony Schiavone shared on the latest episode of What Happened When, discussing the injury (h/t WrestlingNews.co).
"It's a moment that I will never forget. I was right there witnessing him hooking the second hand and applying that LeBell Lock. I have seen the X-rays, and I am aware of the severity of the break. It's a significant fracture," he added.
