The showrunners of Fear the Walking Dead talk about the Troy and Alicia fan theories.
[Warning: Spoiler for the "Iron Tiger" episode of Fear the Walking Dead on Sunday.] Troy Otto had a big problem with Madison Clark when he gave her the bones of Alicia's arm and said her daughter is dead. Troy said he killed Alicia, cut off her arm, and left her as a zombie to get back at Madison for hitting him with a hammer and leaving him to die at a dam in Mexico in season 3. "You took everything from me. I'm just doing the same to you," Troy told Madison in Sunday's "Iron Tiger" episode, where Charlie, who was captured, chose to end her own life instead of letting Madison trade PADRE to save her.
There was another surprising twist. Troy blamed Madison for ruining his family's Broke Jaw Ranch and for the deaths of his brother Jake and his father Jeremiah. But it turned out that Troy wanted to get back at Madison for a different reason. He wanted to take revenge on her for her daughter, Tracy. However, during a tense standoff between Troy and Madison, Tracy went missing, and Troy hinted at the real reason behind his anger. He said, "Her mother's dead because of you."
When Madison pushed Troy to explain why he killed Alicia and who he believed she had taken from him, Troy revealed that it was the woman who had saved him at the Gonzalez Dam. Troy referred to her as "the woman who gave me a second chance."
The lady who helped Troy at the dam is also Tracy's mom. Some folks wonder if Alicia could be Tracy's mom. Fans started talking about this after seeing a young girl in the trailer who looks like Alycia Debnam-Carey's character, Alicia Clark. They're thinking about this because Troy wants to protect his daughter in the final episodes.
I believe the child is his and Alicia’s and he’s lying about having killed her. Alicia may have learned Madison was alive and died while out looking for her and Troy blames Grandma.

We asked the creators Andrew Chambliss and Ian Goldberg to share their thoughts on the Troy/Alicia theories, and the secretive pair had this to share:
"Maybe, maybe not," Goldberg answered when asked if Tracy's mother is someone we've seen before on Fear the Walking Dead. "It's a great question, but it really is such a big one that we'd rather people experience the answer to that as the story unfolds." Chambliss added: "And we like it when people have crazy theories."
Will Tracy be revealed as Alicia's daughter? Can we trust Troy when he claims to have killed Alicia? Find out the answers in the upcoming two-episode series finale on November 19.
"Whether Troy is telling the truth is something that you're just going to have to watch the rest of the season to find out," Goldberg said in an interview. "We will definitely find out whether or not Troy's story is true," Chambliss teased, "and what actually went down between Troy and Alicia."
Fear the Walking Dead's new episodes air on Sundays on AMC and AMC+.
