The upcoming anime movie "The Blue Lock - Episode Nagi" has just revealed a new teaser image, showing the first meeting between Seishiro Nagi and Reo Mikage.
In other news, it was shared that Subaru Kimura will be joining the movie's cast in the role of Ryo Nameoka.
Blue Lock -Episode Nagi- is set to premiere in Japan in Spring 2024. This announcement was made in May, along with the news of a second season for the 24-episode Blue Lock soccer anime series, which first aired last October. The movie is based on a spin-off manga with the same name, published by Kodansha, and its serialization began in Bessatsu Shonen Magazine in 2022.
The original Blue Lock manga, which started in 2018, now has 25 tankoubon volumes as of July 2023. This manga is published in Kodansha's Weekly Shonen Magazine under the Kodansha Comics label. Munemuki Kaneshiro serves as the writer for both the main series and Blue Lock -Episode Nagi-, with Yuusuke Nomura and Kouta Sannomiya as their respective artists.
Kodansha USA describes Blue Lock‘s plot as: "After a disastrous defeat at the 2018 World Cup, Japan’s team struggles to regroup. But what’s missing? An absolute Ace Striker, who can guide them to the win.
