Beloved Internet Sensation, Cheems, Passes Away During Surgery
Cheems, the shiba inu who captured hearts across the internet, has sadly left us. Known by the alternate name "Balltze," Cheems passed away while undergoing surgery on Friday, as reported by his family. Battling cancer, the dog passed away peacefully, slipping into eternal slumber during the surgical procedure and never waking up again. This globally recognized dog gained fame in 2017 and later became synonymous with Dogecoin, the whimsical cryptocurrency playfully endorsed by Elon Musk. At 12 years old, Cheems's journey came to an end, aligning with the lower spectrum of life expectancy for shiba inus.
Supporters closely followed Cheems's health saga through a dedicated Instagram page. Just three weeks prior, his family shared updates on his thoracentesis, a procedure aimed at draining fluid from his lungs. Tragically, it was during this very procedure that he peacefully passed away last Friday.
"Don't be sad, please remember the joy that Balltze brought to the world. A Shiba Inu with a round smiling face connecting you and me, he has helped many people during the pandemic and brought a lot of joy to many of you, but now his mission has completed."
