Shayna Baszler's Warhammer 40K Gear Foreshadowed Her Betrayal of Ronda Rousey

Warhammer 40K enthusiasts might have anticipated Shayna Baszler's betrayal of Ronda Rousey during the recent Money in the Bank premium live event due to the ring gear she was donning. During the event, Baszler turned against her tag team partner Rousey while wearing attire inspired by the Sons of Horus, one of the prominent Traitor Legions in the Warhammer 40K lore. The Sons of Horus served as the Imperial Legion of Space Marines led by Warmaster Horus, who initiated a massive rebellion known as the Horus Heresy against the Emperor of Man. Baszler herself confirmed the reference on her Instagram, as displayed in the post below.

Baszler frequently showcases different sets of ring gear inspired by various Warhammer 40K Space Marine legions, each with its own distinctive heraldry and rich history. On her social media platforms, Baszler often shares updates when she debuts new ring gear. However, it is worth noting that this recent instance marks the first time her gear has been used to foreshadow or hint at a specific story point in her wrestling narrative.

It's fascinating to note that Baszler has been using her Warhammer 40K gear to foreshadow her betrayal of Rousey for several weeks. During the unification of the WWE Women's Tag Team titles and the NXT Women's Tag Team titles, Baszler sported Luna Wolves-inspired gear. In the Warhammer 40K lore, the Luna Wolves served as Horus's original Imperial Legion. However, due to his dissatisfaction with the lack of respect he received as Warmaster, Horus eventually rebranded the Legion as the Sons of Horus. This discontent planted the seed for his ultimate betrayal of the Emperor of Man and his turn to the Chaos gods.

Following Horus's defeat, the Sons of Horus transitioned into the Black Legion, led by the formidable Abaddon the Despoiler, who stands as one of mankind's most formidable adversaries in the current era of Warhammer 40K. Given the narrative that Baszler is weaving, it can be anticipated that she will don Black Legion-inspired ring gear when she inevitably confronts Rousey in the future.
