The exclusive One Ring Magic: The Gathering card has been discovered and officially graded. PSA (Professional Sports Authenticators), a reputable card grading service, recently announced that an unidentified customer had submitted the one-of-a-kind printing of the One Ring card from Magic: The Gathering's Lord of the Rings: Tales of Middle-Earth set. The card, depicted below, received a grade of 9 from PSA. Despite this grading, the card's value is unlikely to be affected as it is truly a unique piece with no other copies in existence. Numerous card stores have already offered over $2 million for this exceptional card, potentially making it the most expensive Magic card ever sold.

Wizards of the Coast initially unveiled the inclusion of the One Ring card in Collector Booster packs of their new Lord of the Rings-themed set, creating a wave of excitement and speculation about its discovery. Now that the One Ring card has found its rightful owner, the value of Collector Booster packs may experience a decrease. However, the hunt continues for several limited editions of other Ring cards, inspired by those crafted for the Elves, Dwarves, and Humans. Additionally, a standard One Ring card with distinct mechanics centered around tempting the ringbearer can also be found in the set.
Magic: The Gathering's collaboration with the Lord of the Rings franchise is part of the game's Universes Beyond initiative, which introduces cards based on diverse intellectual properties. Alongside this highly anticipated crossover, the Universes Beyond banner has also featured prominent sets inspired by Doctor Who and Warhammer 40,000. Notably, the Dungeons & Dragons set released in 2021 garnered significant popularity among Magic players. These exciting partnerships bring a fresh and immersive dimension to the strategic gameplay of Magic: The Gathering by intertwining iconic worlds and beloved characters.
